SOFT AND LITE

NEW ISIS RECOIL REDUCER

David Izzard’s Isis recoil reduction system has been one of the hits of recent times, with many shooters feeling the benefit of its high-tech design. In fact the only drawback for some has been the extra weight it adds to the gun and the change in balance that it causes. Where this is a problem David now has the answer with the introduction of the Isis Light with a body made from high impact resistant engineering polymer. The linear bearings are also polymer lined and the shafts are lightweight aluminium with a hard anodised finish. The new body material will also be very popular with gunsmiths as it is very easy to grind to shape without the swarf produced by grinding a metal body. In total it weighs around the same as a large sorbothane recoil pad and should not disturb the gun’s handling characteristics.

Interestingly he tells us that the new unit feels even smoother to shoot with because the polymer body can flex slightly under load, which allows the shafts to ‘self centre’ with no chance of drag or lock up.
